Gray was born and raised in the Wood River Valley. He spent his youth
hiking, hunting and skiing in the surrounding mountains. One of his
fondest memories is bird hunting with Ernest Hemingway. In 1973, Jed
received a B.A. from the University of Denver, followed by an M.A.
After an eight-year hiatus, during which time he worked as headmaster
at a private school in Denver, Jed returned to Ketchum where he served
as Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce and on the Sun Valley
Planning and Zoning Commission. He obtained his real estate license in
1980 and joined his father, who was the first realtor in Sun Valley, at
Win Gray Realty, which later became Sun Valley Associates. Jed has
served three terms as President of the Sawtooth Board of Realtors.
Along with his wife, Fran, and four children, he enjoys whitewater
rafting, skiing, hiking , hunting and Alpine mountaineering.
